Would copying Opaleye Management Inc. and related entities’s purchases have beaten the S&P 500?

Buying each purchase the day after it was reported, an equal amount each, and holding it 12 months or until they reported a sale would have turned $10,000 on May 21, 2015 into $19,945 by November 2, 2026, +6.2% a year. The copy held shares only 66% of the time, so the fair comparison is the S&P 500 on those same days with Treasury bills otherwise: $29,491, +9.9% a year (the S&P 500 held throughout made $42,811, +13.6% a year). “Average vs S&P 500” is the stock’s return including dividends minus the index’s over the same dates, from the close on the first trading day after the report, or from the close on the trade date. Only windows that have finished are counted. For sales, a negative figure means the stock lagged after it was sold, so selling was the right call (green). “Went the right way” is the share of purchases that beat the index, or of sales that trailed it.
