What Fundamentalytics is for
Fundamentalytics is an independent financial research publication offering data-driven analysis, quantitative valuations and original commentary on publicly traded companies. It is a financial publisher, not an investment adviser. Its principal purpose is to publish financial information, original analysis of listed companies, financial research and educational material that help the public understand securities markets and the companies traded on them. It does not manage money, execute or arrange trades, hold client funds, provide advice tailored to any reader's circumstances, or act for any issuer. It carries no brokerage account-opening links, trading buttons or commission-generating referrals.
Who produces the research
Research is produced and published by Fundamentalytics. Articles are published under the Fundamentalytics Research byline. Valuations, ratings, price targets and options ideas are produced by Fundamentalytics' proprietary automated valuation model, applied identically to every company we cover; no individual selects or adjusts a rating for a particular company. Each piece shows its original publication date and, where materially amended, the date of the latest amendment; each rating shows the date and time it was produced.
How AI is used — and checked
We use AI tools to help draft articles and summaries. They never supply numbers: every financial figure comes from a company's SEC filings through our own data pipeline, and a validator checks each figure in a draft against that source before anyone can approve it. Summaries of filings must reuse only numbers present in the filing and are checked for copying. Nothing AI-drafted is published without human review and approval, and our calculations are reproducible from versioned code and dated data. Responsibility for what we publish rests with us, not with any tool.
How research is presented
- Facts are distinguished from interpretation: figures link to their filing; model outputs state their assumptions (growth, discount rate, terminal growth, share count, net cash).
- Model values are shown as rounded figures and ranges across scenarios, because precise outputs from uncertain assumptions would mislead.
- Methodology: /methodology. Sources: /data-sources.
Ratings and price targets
Ratings are produced by our automated valuation model and have a 12-month horizon. Buy: the market price is below our fair value by more than the margin of safety for that company. Sell: above fair value by more than that margin. Hold: within it. The margin widens with uncertainty (15%, 25%, 35% or 45%), set by the spread between our lower- and higher-growth scenarios. The 12-month price target is our base-case fair value per share. Each rating shows the market price used and its time, the valuation inputs, the uncertainty band and the date it was produced. Ratings are refreshed daily; every new rating, change, target move of 10% or more and withdrawal is recorded in our public ledger. Prices can fall as well as rise; past outcomes are not a guide to future ones; ratings are general research and do not consider your circumstances.
Options ideas
Our options ideas apply two income strategies to our ratings: selling cash-secured puts on companies the model rates well, at strikes where the effective purchase price is at or below our value, and selling covered calls at strikes at or above our value. Option prices are delayed indicative quotes from third-party market data; the chance of assignment is approximated from a Black-Scholes delta. Options are complex, high-risk instruments and are not suitable for most investors: a put seller can lose almost the whole strike price per share, and a covered-call seller gives up gains above the strike.
Our public record
Every signal we publish is recorded, when we publish it, in an append-only, hash-chained ledger with outcomes reconciled against later filings — including calls that did not persist and entries voided with reasons. We publish the record in full, not a selection: see the track record. Recommendations, if published, are recorded the same way, with the reference price, horizon, model version and assumptions in force at the time.
Conflicts of interest
- We accept no payment, sponsorship or other benefit from any company we cover in exchange for research, and publish no issuer-sponsored research.
- Advertising does not influence research conclusions, assumptions, ratings, timing or selection of information. Sponsored content, if any, is labelled as such.
- Fundamentalytics and persons involved in producing its research may hold positions in securities discussed on the website. Where a person involved in producing research holds a direct holding, option, short position or equivalent exposure in a company we cover, we disclose it on that research.
- We do not trade on information obtained through the publication, or to profit from research before it is published.
Other firms' recommendations
We do not reproduce, summarise or paraphrase individual firms' investment ratings or price targets. Company pages may show an aggregate count of buy, hold and sell recommendations published by brokers, without firm names or targets, so readers can see the spread of opinion; it is not our recommendation.
Scope
Whether UK market-abuse rules apply to a given US-listed security depends on where it is traded. We apply these presentation and disclosure standards voluntarily across our whole coverage, rather than case by case.
Market data
Market prices, index levels and option quotes come from third-party market data providers and may be delayed. Company financials come from SEC filings.
