Fastest-growing large US companies

Revenue growth in the latest fiscal year against the year before, for companies with at least $1bn of revenue and $500m the year before, so a small base does not flatter the rate. Growth includes acquisitions. Micron Technology leads with 256.3% in fiscal 2026. The top 100 of 1,751 companies with a figure on file.

Would buying this list have paid?

Buying the top 100 companies by revenue growth, as the list stood each quarter since June 30, 2010, would have returned +15.5% a year against +15.1% for the S&P 500. It beat the index, but mostly by moving more than the market (beta 1.29); after allowing for that, the extra return could be chance.

A backtest describes the past under fixed rules; it is not a forecast. Today's companies only (firms that failed or were taken over are missing, which flatters the result), and fewer companies qualify in the early years; figures as later filed, including restatements; no trading costs; trailing twelve months stand in for the latest fiscal year. Sharpe ratio is return above the Treasury bill rate per unit of swing. All our backtests.
