Atlassian makes team collaboration software that helps organisations coordinate work across departments. Its portfolio of apps, AI agents and curated bundles called Collections is built on a shared foundation, the Atlassian Cloud Platform, which connects data and workflows throughout a business. Named apps include Jira for planning and tracking work, Confluence for shared knowledge, Jira Service Management for IT and employee support, Bitbucket for code, the Loom video tool, and Rovo, its AI offering for enterprise search, chat and agents.
Customers range from small firms to large enterprises across nearly every industry; the company reports that over 85% of the Fortune 500 use its software. It earns money chiefly through subscriptions, selling apps individually or as Collections, with a hosted Marketplace offering more than 6,000 third-party add-ons.
The main deployment option is cloud, alongside dedicated government and single-tenant editions and a self-managed Data Center product being phased out. Atlassian sells largely through self-service and a direct sales team for big accounts. Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2002, it serves more than 350,000 customers in over 200 countries and territories.
