Our note on each quarter Amazon files

10-Q filed October 30: Amazon

Model value −9.2%

Amazon's revenue over the twelve months to September 2026 reached $797.5bn, a rise of 15.4% on the prior year and broadly in line with the growth rate seen a quarter earlier. Profitability told a mixed story. Operating margin widened to 13.1%, up from 11.0% a year before, pointing to firmer cost control or a better sales mix. Free cash flow, however, moved the other way: the margin dropped to -5.9%, having stood at 1.5% a year earlier, suggesting heavier capital spending or working-capital strain is outpacing operating gains. Taken together, these shifts pull our model value down to $111 a share from $122. That estimate sits well below the current share price of $246, a gap worth noting given the diverging trends in margins and cash generation.
