Everest Group is a Bermuda-based reinsurance and insurance group operating worldwide through subsidiaries in the United States, Bermuda and other markets. Its Reinsurance segment covers property, casualty and specialty lines, including catastrophe, mortgage, marine, aviation, professional liability and agriculture risks, written on both treaty and facultative bases. Its Insurance segment offers commercial property, casualty and specialty cover, such as accident and health, professional liability, workers' compensation and property/short-tail products.
Customers include insurers (ceding companies) buying reinsurance and multinational and mid-sized commercial clients buying direct insurance. Business is placed through reinsurance and insurance brokers, general agents and, for reinsurance, directly with ceding companies; the company earns premiums for underwriting risk, paying ceding commissions on some pro-rata reinsurance contracts.
The group is organised into two reportable segments, Reinsurance and Insurance, alongside a smaller run-off "Other" segment covering discontinued business and asbestos and environmental exposures. It underwrites across more than 100 countries on six continents, with offices and branches spanning the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. In 2025 it wrote $17.7 billion of gross premiums and employed 3,064 people as of February 2026; its operating subsidiaries carry an A+ rating from A.M. Best.
