C Fundamentals grade

Penguin Solutions is a technology company that supplies high-performance computing and artificial-intelligence systems, specialised memory, and lighting components. Its Advanced Computing line covers HPC and AI infrastructure sold with accompanying software and managed services; its Integrated Memory line produces flash and DRAM modules, including its CXL product family; and its Optimized LED line makes high- and mid-power lighting for general, display and horticultural uses.

The firm earns most of its money from hardware and product sales, supplemented by software and managed services within computing. Buyers include original-equipment manufacturers who order tailored memory for industrial, government, networking and storage markets, alongside enterprises and public bodies adopting AI across sectors such as finance, energy and education.

Operations are divided into these three reporting segments, and the group follows a 'Fab-Light' model that relies on outside manufacturers rather than its own fabrication plants. It runs facilities in Malaysia and sells internationally, with LED demand drawn from China and Europe. In June 2025 the parent company moved its domicile from the Cayman Islands to Delaware; it has also acquired Stratus Technologies and received a preferred-share investment from SK Telecom.
