C+ Fundamentals grade

Astera Labs is a global semiconductor company that designs connectivity products for cloud and AI data centres. Its Intelligent Connectivity Platform combines high-speed, mixed-signal chips with an embedded software suite called COSMOS, which configures, monitors and manages those chips. It sells four product families — Aries retimers and cable modules, Taurus Ethernet cable modules, Leo CXL memory controllers and Scorpio fabric switches — in the form of integrated circuits, boards and modules, built on standards such as PCIe, Ethernet and CXL.

Its customers are large cloud operators (hyperscalers), AI accelerator and GPU vendors, and system makers (OEMs). It sells directly and through distributors, typically against purchase orders for specific products. In 2025 its top three end customers together accounted for about 86% of revenue.

The company uses a fabless model, with its chips made by TSMC and assembled by other partners. It sells mainly into North America and Asia, maintains research offices across seven countries, and employed 756 full-time staff at the end of 2025. As of December 2025 it held 26 issued patents in the United States.
